Marylebone is a small, quiet corner with the rest of London a short walk or one stop away in any direction.

Selkirk Place sits between Portman Square and Hyde Park, close enough to both that most first-time guests walk to Marble Arch before they've worked out which Underground line they need. The area is mostly residential — garden squares, mews houses, a few embassies — so the noise picks up only once you cross Oxford Street. Below are the distances we're asked about most, all measured on foot from the hotel's front door.

The Wallace Collection is a free museum in a townhouse much like this one, a short walk north on Manchester Square — worth an hour if the weather turns. Portman Square's own garden is private to residents, but the railings and plane trees are worth the two-minute detour regardless.
